It depends on the reason the lesson did not happen and whether there was prior notice. For example, if the student missed the class without telling the teacher before the class, then the Italki policy is that the teacher is paid for their time. Italki encourages teachers and students to come to an agreement about how to handle a missed class, but if the teacher and student disagree, Italki will make a decision.
