"close your exercise book!" "mach zu" (or "macht zu") is imperative mood of the verb "zumachen". As "zu" is the stressed prefix, it appears to be separated from the rest of the word in the sentense. Viel Spass beim Lernen! :)

I think both versions are possible. "mach!" is a little bit more colloquial

Hello 波 仔, " Close the copybook" It is either "Mach das Heft zu" or "Macht die Hefte zu" This is an order to close the copybook ,so it is either addressed to: - You = Mach (du) das Heft zu or -You(plural) = Macht ihr die Hefte zu ( If you are addressing more than one person, they would be rather closing more than one copybook, thus *die Hefte* = the copybooks.
