¿Me va a gustar? Am I going to like it? ¿Me va a gustar? Why is not "me voy a gustar"?

Hola! Gustar es un verbo reflexivo: la acción parte del objeto y no del sujeto, por eso dices "a mí" en lugar de usar el pronombre "yo": A mi me gusta la pizza - i like pizza Hay muchos verbos reflexivos: gustar, encantar, emocionar, fascinar, etc.

Hi Wendy, In Spanish, the syntax structure of the verb "gustar " works differently compared to other languages, like, say, English, Polish, or even Portuguese. The order subject+verb+object is reversed and turns into Indirect Object+verb+subject. (Me gusta/n, Te gusta/n, Le gusta/n etc.) There are other verbs that have this same structure: Doler (me duele), Encantar (me encanta), Interesar (me interesa). Hope it helps!

"Gustar" is an exception in Spanish, because it can only be used with the third person singular and the third person plural. It literally translates as "it pleases me." or "it is pleasing to me." Me gusta estudiar idiomas. Me gustan los libros de ciencia ficción.

In Spanish, the verb 'gustar' has the following structure: Object (person who expresses preference) + verb + subject (what I like), for example: me gustan los helados. The verb has to agree with the subject, not with the object. That's why you cannot say "me voy a gustar".
