Leave in this context refers to the happiness. If you are happy, you are carrying happiness and you can in theory leave some of this happiness, or make others happy.

Leave in this context means to not take something with you when you go. You brought happiness, a part of that happiness you're not taking with you when you go, your 'leaving' it behind.
