There aren't typical nicknames like this in Yiddish because Ashkenazi Jews have traditionally named babies after deceased, not living, relatives. It's not a rule or anything, just a pretty strong tradition. Sephardic Jews traditionally name children after living relatives, but they don't (and didn't) speak Yiddish.
