For me it's perfectly normal, but people around here is getting used to the idea ! Not quite there ! (specially if you are the father of the girl ! =O )

actually in 10 years ago it would be very uncommon in China, it will be a strange thing and will not accepted by adults,expecially the teachers and parents. but now much more different than before. nowadays it's normal if girl firstly invite a boy in public..
