English questions from TV. He is not "street" like us. You "dove" in front of Ross. What does street and dove mean? I'm sorry if these two sentences confuse you but I can't type more because there are too many sentences.

"Street" refers to being "street smart", tough, experienced, etc. basically the opposite of naive. the meaning varies depending on the context. "dove" can mean that someone jumped or ducked really fast. ex: "he saw his ex- girlfriend coming and dove behind the bush" in the present tense "to take a dive" is slang for "to fall/trip" * "dove" implies that it is intentional. if it is being used to describe someone falling in the past tense you would say "They TOOK a dive"

'street' is a slang word in this usage. It refers to a certain tough, savvy, independent urban culture of adolescents and young adults, based on their music preferences, their clothing, skateboarding and other pursuits they enjoy. 'to dive' is to jump headfirst. 'dove' is the past tense. 'dived' is an alternative past tense. 'I dove (dived) into the swimming pool.'
