Calling all English grammar fanatics .... I am having difficulty explaining to a non-native speaker why we don't need the two "the" articles in the following sentence: I recommend that we start to consider contracting with "the" Company B instead of Company A from "the" next year...... Intuitively I know this is wrong but I cannot explain exactly why it is..... please help! Thank you......

Company B is just a name, so assuming 'The' isn't part of the name it shouldn't have an article. It's the same as for a person. We're considering hiring John. (not the John) You would only use an article if you need to define it in some way - because there is more than one with the same name, for example. John works in McDonald's. John works in the McDonald's near the station. When you are speaking about the week, month, year, etc. after this one, you don't use an article with next as it's always relative to 'now', so it doesn't need to be defined. We are going to buy it next year. If your not referring to something from the present perspective, you would use the. We didn't have enough money in 2020, so we bought it the next year.
