The Difference between Tangyuan(汤圆) and Yuanxiao(元宵) How was your Lantern Festival? Did you have typical foods for celebrating the Lantern Festival like Tangyuan(汤圆) and Yuanxiao(元宵)? These are all shape like a ball, and are all white. So many people thought that it's just the same. So do you know the difference between Tangyuan and Yuanxiao? Ok, now let me tell you the difference. The making process of Tangyuan is like a rolling snow. After making the stuffing, and shape it like a ball. Then put it into the stick rice flour and rolling and rolling around, untill the size like a Ping-Pong Ball. Making Yuanxiao is like a making dumpling. First, knead the dough by adding some waters into stick rice flour. Then make the dough in to a wafer shape, and put stuffing into it. Last step is wrapping it into a ball shape. People eat Tangyuan and Yuanxiao in the Lantern Festival, because it symbolize familly unity and happiness.

Preparing for The Test After graduation, I've been keeping on studying english by myself. But it was not easy for me to insist on study continuously without any pressures, since I almost don't use english with my work. I don't have any special reasons for learning english, I just like it. For putting myself on pressure in learning and making sure of my level I decided to take the PET3. If I pass the test, I will chanllenge the next grade. I belive that I can speak fluently in the near future.

Things Go against Me Today It was past 8 pm already and I am still in my office now. After finish with most of the work, I decided to bring remaing work to home. Because It's been a hetic day, and I just hoped to leave my office as soon as possible. But there there was something wrong with USB interace that I couldn't copy the documents to USB. I tried to use net work disck then. It seems to go well, but when it's almost tranfered the problem arised again. The internect was disconnected. I have been waiting for the trasfering more than 20 minutes, with large capacity of the file and the slow network speed also was one of the reason. Anyway, I started transfer the file again. For not only waiting for it I decided to practice my writing here during this time.

Busy is better than at idle Hi! I'm back after ''Two days for drying nets''. It's been busy during the past few days. Busy for working, family affairs and meeting friends etc. And my husband is more busier than me. He had been going on a business trip and just stayed at home only for three days last month. The most terrible things that I heard was he had to work overtime everyday, and had worked overnight for two days in a row at that time. Then he wen to business trip again two days ago. As we often say that "busy is better than at idle'', it's not too bad except work all night.

Buying tickets The biggest fesitival, which is the Spring Fesitival, in China is coming. Almost the all of Chinese will going to home to spend the holiday with their family, and it makes difficult to buy tickets in these period. Tickets begin to sell 60 days in advance. Every year, these time seems like a war for getting the ticket. I'm the one in the WAR. As for me, I will going to the husband's family to spend 3-4 days with them, and then to meet my family for the next few days. The round trip will cost about 30-45 hours, it depends on which one you take, by train. Even though it's a long journey, but we are still eager to meet our family as soon as possible.

What's the different way to use "that is.." and "which is"? For example: It felt a little weird to me, which is why I changed it. The question is, can I use "that is" insted of "which is" in this sentence?

Chinese Idiom Today, I want to share the Chinese Idiom called "三天打鱼两天晒网”. (sān tiān dǎ yú,liǎng tiān shài wǎng) Literally it means, three days fishing and two days for drying nets. It is a parable to describle someone who do not have perseverance, and easy to be interrupted for several reasons in doing something. I've often called mayself as a person like it. Anyway, I hope that my sharing helps some one who are interested in learning Chinese. TGIF! I wish you a great weekend!

strange present for Chrisrtmas In my memory, we didn't celebrate Christmas very much in China about 10 years ago. Since we thought that it's just a western culture festival. But now it became one of favorite festival in China. And in Christmas Eve, giving apples for present became popluar in the last few years. It'll sound strange to people who are not Chinese. The reason is the first word of "Christmas Eve" in Chinese pronouciation is like "ping", and it's same as the first word of "Apple" . Many people don’t really care about the real meaning which is for celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ. Anyway, I wish all of you have a Merry Christmas again.
