Hello, I'm Saief.
And I'm a Dutch teacher here on italki!
I come from Suriname, a country located in South America.
Suriname was a colony of the Netherlands from 1667 to 1975. And because we were a colony of the Netherlands,
Dutch is our mother tongue in Suriname.
So my mother tongue is Dutch, because English is taught here at school. I am also awkward in English because my parents are from the neighboring country of Guyana, where their native language is English.
I have been teaching Dutch here on italki for more than two years, while I am also working on my bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. So my hobbies have a lot to do with the electronic world and music.ฉันในฐานะผู้สอน
If you're anxious about booking a lesson, don't worry. My classes are fun, I adapt my teaching methods towards your needs, that is if you need help with pronounciation, grammar or writing. If you are a beginner and think you will make a lot of mistakes and that is holding you back, the only thing we say to that is "If you're not making mistakes, then you are not learning!".

I offer two types of lessons:
1. Conversation
2. Grammar
During the conversation lessons you can pick a topic that you are interested or might need for your future in the work space. Or we can talk about the culture in Suriname. There are 5 different main ethnicities in Suriname, so there is a lot of culture to break down and discuss together.
I can also help you achieve an A0-B2 level in Dutch with grammar classes. I have various material like workbooks, texts, dialogues, worksheets. Anything that you are interested in! You are also allowed to bring your own material.สื่อการสอนของฉัน

This has been my first time taking Dutch classes, and I'm happy with what I've learned so far. Saief has always patient with me even when I mix up languages and he has also encouraged me to keep practicing, which I really appreciate. I've also learnt a lot about Surinam along the way!
