Fun lesson. Cherry knows how to feel my linguistics needs and cater for them regardless of the contents of the book. This makes for very intellectually stimulating exchanges which clearly boost my motivation.

Used an easily available Burmese instructional manual, which was helpful. Good judgement about when to introduce new concepts to a beginner. Speaks English well. Very good first session.

Today, we focused mainly on reading comprehension, which is exactly what I need most. I could tell Cherry put a lot of thought into slowing the pace of our lessons down, and incorporating reading practice into lessons, in order to ensure my reading stays up to par with other skills (speaking, listening, etc.). Great lesson!

I had a great first lesson with Sayama Cherry. One really nice thing is that she understands how to speak to a beginner - she spoke slowly and clearly and with simple vocabulary so that I was able to understand her easily. This meant that I was able to have a one hour conversation in Burmese, which was such a great feeling! Even though I know I have a long way to go, that experience was so encouraging for me. Sayama Cherry also helped me by correcting my mistakes and writing down new words and phrases for me. She seems like a lovely person. Thank you so much, Sayama Cherry!
