Born in the Netherlands to a Dutch father and English mother, I’ve spent 20 years in the UK bridging cultures—and languages. As a bilingual academic with a PhD and a passion for teaching, I specialize in helping students *speak* Dutch confidently, whether you’re starting from scratch or refining fluency. My approach blends structured learning with lively conversations, tailored to your goals (art, engineering, or everyday life!). I have a long track record of tutoring university students, teaching English and Dutch to secondary school children and to young adults in developing countries. I am an expert in helping students settle in new countries and work-related Dutch. I have a lot of experience getting people through the Inburgering exam and higher levels of certification such as the Staatsexamen Nt2 level A, B and C. I am a patient and excellent communicator, so whether you would like to have a free flow conversation or follow an organised programme of lessons I can cater for everybody and tailor to any level depending on the student's needs.บทเรียนและรูปแบบการสอนของฉัน
The student's needs and requirements are discussed and targets are set to address these. I use a communicative learning pathway that suits the needs of language students: understanding, speaking, writing and reading Dutch. All lessons are conversation lessons in Dutch. Meaning, pronunciation and grammatical structures are offered and learned through given texts. The most frequently used words of the Dutch language are used in the texts. You can write me stories of your day, work, or hobbies, we can translate poetry, or talk about art, your passions, enjoyable topics of conversation during the lesson so that we get to know each other a bit while we learn.สื่อการสอนของฉัน

Kate is super! She is very knowledgeable and full of tips to learn Dutch. Compassionately push the students beyond what they would have expected from the course, and is a good conversation partner for beginners. She is attentive to students' needs and flexible in her lesson plans.

Kate is very humane. She takes the time to listen and makes me at ease before debuting the lesson. She is knowledgeable and promptly eager to share her insights about pronunciation and grammar. The flow of the lesson is fluid, it’s an enjoyable experience and it seems natural.

This was my first lesson with Kate and I really enjoyed it. With her friendly and lovely manner she created a familiar atmosphere which made it easy for me to speak freely. She corrected my mistakes in a descreet way and gave support to find the right translation for what I wanted to convey. Unfortunatly, the time flew by way too fast. Thank you!
