Hi! I’m Jacob — a native Dutch speaker, Microsoft-certified IT Manager, and passionate educator.
I help you learn Dutch in a relaxed, practical way, with real-life conversation and smart tools like AI to boost your progress. With 10+ years in tech and 4+ years leading IT teams, I also coach students in digital skills, product thinking, and modern work life. I use AI daily and love showing others how to use it to learn smarter — including for languages. Outside of work, I travel, play guitar, and learn Hindi and Chinese. Because my of my studies in NLP and a bachelor in Social Work I have learned very well to listen to people, let them set attainable goals for themselves and make a plan to reach those. I accept that there;s multiple learning styles and only use those which are effective to people. I'm very patient, kind, but can also be strict when necessary. Because sometimes you just need a little nudge in the right direction. I will offer different kinds of classes. I can help you learn vocabulary, give tools to help learn vocabulary, as well and make small stories to make sure you remember this vocabulary. This has always worked will for me, since I'm a visual learning. Learning by repetition is key in this.
I can also give more structured Classes focussing on sentence learning, in normal day-to-day dutch, so not just lesson book dutch. You want to speak like a native, not like a book.
I can also teach business and movie related classes. how to use speech in dutch corporations, the ethics there and how to talk.
I can teach children, having taught Chinese to children before.
