#DiscoverMyitalki
italki has a new look, do you like it? All tools and content are tailored to your learning language, come and discover together.
I rewrite my post of my opinion about the new update of Italki, because the previous one was not really good. I will also tell about what I like about the update, not just the things what should improve. Podcasts Some of the Cantonese podcasts, the things are explained in Mandarin Chinese. It is that I can understand Mandarin Chinese, but for other people who can't understand Mandarin Chinese, a transcription and English translation would be helpful. Actually I like the display of the podcasts before the update more than after the update. The display was just like when you are searching for teacher, a bigger display. Now it is smaller. Messages button If you have read my previous post, I told that the messages button that has changed place, was not really practical in my opinion. But now I actually get used of it, so I don't care anymore. Quizzes It is not possible to see which vocabulary and quizzes (in the Discover section) a teacher has made, when going to the teacher's profile, only the podcasts you can see by clicking on the posts of the teacher in question. In overall, a nice update.

Do you have a native partner while learning a new language?😃 🔶Having a native partner when learning a new language can be incredibly beneficial in several ways: ✅Immersive Learning: Being in a relationship with a native speaker provides constant exposure to the language in various contexts, helping you become more accustomed to its nuances, pronunciation, and colloquialisms. ✅Practice Opportunities: You'll have frequent opportunities to practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in the language with your partner, which can significantly improve your proficiency over time. ✅Cultural Insights: Your partner can offer valuable insights into the culture associated with the language, helping you understand cultural references, social norms, and etiquette. ✅Motivation and Support: Learning a new language can be challenging, but having a supportive partner can motivate you to persist through difficulties and celebrate your progress along the way. ✅Personalized Feedback: Your partner can provide personalized feedback on your language skills, correcting errors and offering suggestions for improvement in a comfortable and supportive environment. Overall, having a native partner can greatly enhance your language learning experience and accelerate your progress towards fluency. Sama Yavari

Philosophy Started from the Ancient Greece and then it spread all over the world. But who are the most famous greek philosophera? Socrates The Roman politician Cicero called Socrates ‘the first who brought philosophy down from the heavens, placed it in cities, introduced it into families, and obliged it to examine into life and morals, and good and evil’. One famous quote that he said was : True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing Plato Unlike Socrates, Plato was an aristocrat. His wealth and status in Athens did not deter him, however, from being a keen student of Socrates. He took everything Socrates had taught him and built upon it, and what he built was a body of work imbued with such pivotal meaning that scholars have attributed to him the foundations for modern Western philosophy, science, mathematics, political thought and even spirituality. Plato defined thinking as ‘the talking of the soul with itself’. He taught that the soul is immortal, and that life imprisons the soul in the body. Perception is key: in his Allegory of the Cave, for example, he describes people in a cave who can only see shadows on the walls; but if they turned around, they would understand what was casting those shadows and thus be wiser. Aristotle Aristotle moved to Athens in his teens to study at Plato’s Academy for some twenty years, until his teacher, Plato, passed away. He was Plato’s best student, and all the knowledge he gained from him earned Aristotle a top job: tutor of Alexander the Great (indeed, in this he was most likely the highest paid philosopher in history). He later established his own philosophical school called the Peripatetic school at the Lyceum, a temple dedicated to Apollo. (Peripatetic comes from the Greek peripateo, ‘to walk around’; Aristotle liked to walk as he thought and taught.) Aristotle spoke about that the perfection is in the middle of the situations. If you want to learn more and more about that book a lesson NOW!
