Today is the last day of the three-day weekend. I had late-night dance practice for the past two days, so I slept until 11 this morning. I feel a bit tired, but I have a test tomorrow, so I’m planning to study and do my best to prepare for it.

Yesterday, I went to Nagatoro with my friends. We met in the morning and had a really fun day. We ate a lot of delicious food like soba, miso katsu bowl, ice cream, and shaved ice. We also visited a beautiful river nearby and took many pictures. I was very happy and satisfied. We also made some fun plans for summer vacation, so I’m really looking forward to it.

Today, I went to vote in the election. I was happy to see that many of my friends also went. It made me feel that more young people are starting to care about politics. Voting is really important because it gives us a voice in how our society is shaped. Even one vote can make a difference.

It was cloudy today, and a storm was expected. MeeMaw swung by in the morning and stayed. We spent a long time in front of the TV, even though she couldn’t understand anything with the English dubbing. Later, she accompanied me while I practiced guitar—having someone watch me play was great motivation. Afterward, Mom chided me for being a little rude to almost everyone lately. She was probably right; I should admit that and say "thank you" more often. In a mischievous twist, Dad brought home a charming chocolate cake but refused to share any with me as punishment. Honestly, I’m beyond the age where withholding cake counts as discipline. Nice try, though. I’ll sneak a slice, perhaps all of it after he falls asleep, and he’ll be beside himself with astonishment.

Next week, I will go out to eat with my friend and our teacher. We are going because the teacher wants to thank us for helping with her assignment. This will be my first time going out to eat with my friend, so I’m very excited. We talked together and decided to go to a restaurant that the teacher recommends. I hope the food will be delicious and that we can have a good time. I’m looking forward to talking with everyone and having fun. I think it will be a special memory for me.
