I had a chat with my dad today for the first time in a while. Well, actually, I was the only one doing all the talking! But it was so fun. I forgot to give him his Father's Day present, so I'm thinking about combining it with his upcoming birthday. I really hope I can pull that off

Today, I didn't have my part-time job, so I was able to relax after coming home. I spent some time playing games and enjoying a quiet evening. It felt nice to take a break from my usual routine and have some time for myself. I also watched some videos and listened to music. Because I could spend the day at my own pace, I felt refreshed and had a really good day.

Ever wake up and feel like your brain is still loading? 🥱 Most textbooks will teach you to say "I'm tired," but native speakers use a much better word for that specific "half-awake" feeling. I've just posted Lesson 01 of my new channel, Daily English, where I break down this exact scenario! 🚀 Check out the post, read the tips, and definitely listen to the audio to master the pronunciation! 👇

Today, I went to my part-time job in the evening. I felt more tired than usual because it had been a while since I worked that much. After I got home, I was happy to eat a delicious meal. Tomorrow, I have to go to my university to pick up something I left behind.

I gave a presentation today. I was really nervous. I found I should update it from my teacher’s comment. Then I went to McDonald’s and ate a limited-time burger. Relieved that the presentation was over and enjoying eating out, I completely forgot that I had an online class. I know I'll be fine if I watch the archived video later, so I think I will watch it tomorrow.

How to answer "Tell me about yourself" in English (without freezing) "Tell me about yourself" is not an icebreaker. It is the first screening question, disguised as small talk. The interviewer is testing whether you can choose what to say under mild social pressure — and there is no right answer, only a well-chosen one. The freeze that comes with this question is not about grammar. Native speakers freeze on it too. The freeze comes from being asked, with no warning, to choose what is essential about yourself. Past-present-future is the technique that solves the actual problem: not knowing where to start. But the order matters, and it is counterintuitive. Most candidates lead with the past, because that is what CVs do. The stronger order is present, past, future. Start with where you are now. Briefly say how you got there. End with where you are going. Ninety seconds, total. The present anchors the listener. The past gives the present its weight. The future signals fit. And here is the piece of advice almost nobody gives, that matters most: the first ten seconds decide the next forty minutes. Not formally — but the interviewer's nervous system makes a read in ten seconds. Was this person warm or stiff. Did they sound like a colleague, or like someone reading. So the rehearsal is not the whole answer. It is the first sentence. To the point where it is automatic. A real opener is concrete and present-tense. Not: "I am a graduate of the faculty of economics with five years of working experience in the sphere of finance." But: "Right now I'm leading the data team at a fintech in Berlin — about thirty people, mostly Python and SQL." Prepare one sentence. Say it out loud until it sounds like something you would say at dinner. Then trust the rest.

Today, when I came home, everyone was cooking dinner. We made tacos together and ate them. They were very delicious. I enjoyed spending time with everyone and talking while we cooked. I am very sleepy today, so I am going to bed early. I hope I can get enough sleep tonight.

Today, I did not have a part-time job. So, I stayed at home and slept for a long time. Recently, I have not been getting enough sleep, so I was happy to rest today. I think it was good for me. I feel better now and hope I can sleep well again tonight.

I stayed up all night watching *Star Wars* at a friend’s house, so I was so tired that I’ve been sleeping ever since I got back from college. I’m really worried about whether I’ll be able to sleep tonight. I actually wanted to go to the gym today, but it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to make it. I have a part-time job starting at noon tomorrow, so I’m going to get up early in the morning to get there.
