This lesson looks at the issue of people ‘coasting’ in their jobs and the reasons why. Students will listen to three people talking about their attitude to work and they will read an article about the causes of coasting. Exercises focus on related vocabulary, as well as listening and reading skills. Students will also have the opportunity to discuss questions on the topic. This group lesson is for adult English students (C1-C2) who want to speak about a specific topic with a professional teacher and other students from all over the world! We will start by doing a warm-up game, work in pairs, and discuss the chosen topic. Please note: This group class is for students between the levels of C1-C2. Please read the worksheet and listen to the audio provided before the lesson starts. I will ask my students to read the article so please be prepared. The goal of each lesson is to discuss a specific topic, expand vocabulary, and improve the student's confidence as an English speaker in a relaxed and fun environment. Since this is a conversation class, I encourage each student to speak openly with other students. Ask questions and share your opinions! Due to this being a group lesson, students will not be corrected individually. Instead, collective corrections will be noted and sent to each student at the end of the class.
