1.) It's raining a lot/very heavily
Example: "I visited England last week and it was raining cats and dogs the whole time i was there")
2.) Good luck (usually said to someone who is about to go and give a performance in the theatre)

3.) In the good times and the bad times

4.) To stop working on something

Example: "Stop beating around the bush and tell me what you want!"
