I came across an interesting article online about new decarbonized technology and allow me to share it here. The biggest plant all over the world, "Mammoth" started working in Iceland this May. The plant can suck out carbon dioxide[CO2], which causes global warming, as if the plant is a huge cleaner. Mammoth was developed by the startup "Climeworks" in Switzerland and the second "Direct Air Capture[DAC]" plant. DAC is technology that absorbs air and separates CO2 with chemicals. After that, CO2 is implanted deep in the ground. It is also reused or is transformed into solid products. Climeworks is planning on transporting CO2 to underground, changing them into stones and storing them forever. The operation is all done by plenty of geothermal energy, which is also clean and environmentally-friendly, in Iceland. The next generation solution for climate change like this technology has attracted a lot of attention lately from the government and various companies. That is because the concentration of CO2 in 2023 was the highest record ever. Climeworks states Mammoth can suck out CO2 of 36,000 ton per year in full swing. This is equivalent to exhausting gases of about 7,800 cars. I have heard the news that many people have died of scorcher in many countries. It's a matter of time before we all face the same crisis . So, I think we need to address it immediately.
