Hi Nirmani <3 These are the type of questions that make me realize how confusing the English language can be; I cannot imagine trying to learn English. I give you so much credit. To start, "special" and "especial" are both adjectives. However, "special" is a very common adjective and "especial" is uncommon. Also, in English, the "adverbial" form of these words (specially, especially) is used a lot more than its "adjective" root (special, especial). "Special", however, can convey a sense of an unusual quality. "Especial" conveys a sense of "specificity". Examples: 1. "This is a special gift for you" or "These roses are special because they are her favorite color". 2. "This gift is especially for you" or "She loves flowers, especially orange ones". "Especial", however, can also be used to signify that something is "noteworthy" or "exceptional". (Example: "She did especially well on her exam", or, "The police took especial interest in that suspect because of his extensive criminal history"). I know this might sound confusing, let me know if you want more examples or if you need me to explain it differently <3 Warmly, Nicky

ESPECIAL as an adjective is almost never used (I'm not sure I've ever seen it). If you encounter the word it will almost always be in the adverb form ESPECIALLY. If you look it up you'll see if means to single something out, or either to a great extent: He loves all vegetables, especially carrots. All of the teachers are good, especially Ms. Jones.

Hello! The words are basically synonyms. "Especial" can be used if you need to stress the quality of something or someone, more than you would with the more commonly used "Special".
