Do any teachers here teach their languages using the TPRS method (teaching proficiency through reading and storytelling)? I'm interested in taking language lessons through TPRS because, though I've been teaching English at universities for 18 years, I've never taught with the method and I'd like to find out what it's like from the student's point of view. The language for me to learn isn't that important because I'm a huge nerd and want to learn ALL the languages. XD The only restrictions would be that it can't be a language I already speak or have studied, since I'd like to learn with TPRS from the beginner level. Languages I already speak are: English, German, Russian, Italian, Spanish, and Scottish Gaelic. Languages I've already been studying are: French and Czech. So if you're experienced in teaching your languages to beginners through TPRS, feel free to reply here or to message me. I'd consider both taking lessons and doing an exchange for any English help you might need (I'm a native English-speaker from Scotland, I have a master's in Applied Linguistics and TESOL, and I have been teaching English for 18 years). Cheers, Ross

Hi! I am trying to learn how to teach through TPRS (Turkish essentially). I have tried learning myself just by watching videos of people using this method and it was a very nice experience for me. I’m now trying to apply this method while teaching. You can find some example of Blaine Ray (and some others) on YouTube. And by the way, I know your message has been posted some time ago, but if you’re still interested, I will be happy to show you how I proceed! :D
