They expected so many things from life so they call me a symbol of their life yearning/expectancy. However, they wanted to me be a girl, but God gave/gifted them a baby boy. Ultimately, they decided to call me by this name.

My name is Umit. In Turkish, it’s meaning is hope. I think my parents gave it to me as a hope for their life. They wanted to call me Umit as a symbol of their life expectations . However, they wanted to me to be a girl but God gave them a boy so they decided that they would give me this name.
