An achievement is similar, but it applies moreso to personal goals that you care about. Saying you achieved something implies intention; you set out to do something and you achieved it. But if you accomplish something, it moreso means that you have done something that probably took a lot of hard work or skill. In short, an achievement is a type of accomplishment.
