I don't think that capital punishment should be abolished because so far there has been no conclusive evidence that the application of capital punishment is corrected with reduced crime. Before, I was in favor of the death penalty
because I thought that if a case of killing on innocent people it should punish.
However, the number of crimes does not decrease.
Moreover, while the verdict is being handed down, there are living of the taxes of the people.
Such meaningless time should be
dispensed with. Also it is much more
meaningful to give criminals a chance to rehabilitate themselves than to just
take their lives. In other words,
I think that they should make amends for their sins. They should know the gravity of their sins.
But sometimes, there have been cases in the past where incorrect decision have been made.
It is the worst thing that can happen.
In order to prevent it, I think capital punishment should not be abolished.
According to Amnesty International, the international society is heading toward abolishing the death penalty. When I read this sentence, I was so surprised. Because I didn't know the international society now. It is also important for Japan people to look at the world.
In conclusion, I don't think that capital
punishment should be abolished.
