What meaning does "put away" have in the context:
British press put away first me and now Verstappen as "bad guy"
None of the definitions from dictionary match:
1. to return (something) to the correct or proper place
2. to save
3. to lock up in a prison, mental institution, etc
4. to eat or drink, esp in large amounts
5. to put to death, because of old age or illness.
I guess the meaning is to call as a bad guy. But is here some additional connotation?
