What do you think 'kicking down the cobblestones,' mean in the song, 'Feeling Groovy' by Paul Simon?
Slow down, you move too fast
You got to make the morning last
Just kicking down the cobblestones
Looking for fun and feelin’ groovy
Ba da da da da da da, feelin’ groovy.
I was looking for if the expression was symbolic. If the word cobblestone' stood for some kind of problem or task at hand, so that you want to kick it down to remove the obstacle in your mind. But I could not see that it means anything else than the stones used in a cobblestone street. So I guess it's his way of saying: this is how I walk, randomly letting my feet hit the elevated cobblestones, as if I were kicking them. Drowsy and looking for fun, he is unconcerned about how he walks.

Hi Jorgen!
I really like your interpretation of this line, but I think that the second meaning is probably more likely seeing the other lyrics. I think it just serves to indicate that he's walking in a carefree and playful way, letting his feet hit the cobblestones as he walks.
