The most popular sport in Brazil is soccer. In fact, it’s almost the only popular sport. I think because Brazil got really good results during 50’s, 60’s and 70’s with Pelé and many other famous players, Brazil became a big soccer hub. Nowadays, Brazil soccer team is not that good anymore. The last time we won a World Cup was in 2002 thanks to an amazing performances of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Cafu and Roberto Carlos. Still, soccer is a popular sport in Brazil because you only need a ball and a empty space to play it. Soccer is also a way of boys (yes, mostly boys) to get a chance to have a good life. A lot of boys go to soccer schools and try to get to professional leagues as kids.
