Last weekend, my girlfriend cooked me a Malaysian-style curry; long story short, it was fascinating 😋😇. So, I worked at a pretty famous Asian fusion restaurant for a few months when I was in New Zealand, and it sold a few Southeast Asian-style curry dishes as well. And I have to tell you that what my girlfriend made was at least 10 times better than them…lol. (I mean…the head chef at this restaurant was Korean...And of course, the curries were way too sweet. In his defense, how was he supposed to fully understand authentic Southeast Asian cuisine…? His Korean-style fried chicken was good though. 😂 ) Anyway, on top of this fabulous curry, what interested me the most was the fact that she added some coconut milk and a few pieces of dry ginger in the rice, which made it so exotic yet tasty…(As far as I know, Koreans NEVER add coconut milk to rice.) Her delicious dish made me want to visit Southeast Asian countries more! 👍🏼
