What does "Savvy?" mean in this case? Does it mean "Did I show knowledge and it makes sense?" (Jack thinks something bad might happen to him during the treasure hunt so he talks to a clergyman who is also on the trip.) Jack: On the off chance this does not go well for me, I would like it noted here and now that I am prepared to believe in whatever I must so that I may be welcomed into that place where all the goody goodies get to go. Savvy? Clergyman: We have a word for that, Jack. You can convert.

"Savvy?" means "Do you understand?" or "Is that clear?" In this case, it's almost like "Do we have a deal?" 'Savvy' is a slang word derived from the French 'savoir' which means 'to know'. Savvy? = Do you understand? / Is it clear? It can be answered, 'Savvy' = I understand / It's clear. He's really savvy = He knows a lot (about something). The adjective is still quite often used in British English.
