I sat down with my eyes locked on the vastness dark every night, never losing hope and waiting for Selene and its soothing comeback.

Hi Mistie. This is beautifully written 😊 A few comments: (1) the moon is 'in' the sky; (2) the vast darkness (unless you wanted to say the vastness of the dark sky); (3) 'her' soothing, if you are talking about Selene.
