Few people devote time to hobbies nowadays. Say why you think this is the case and what effect this has on the individual and society in general. Today society has a tendency to spend less time on leisure activities because in my opinion life overall is more costly than in the past. And one of the possible effects could be the obligation to work for both spouses due to the lack of resources. The reason for decreasing interest in hobbies in society could be the lack of enough money for living a comfortable life. As a result, people should work more than in the past century. Consequently, they do not have time for hobbies because they have fatigue after the longest working days. For instance, in Russia, if a person would like to buy his own house, he should pay more than the average salary monthly. And many people have 2 or more job places for this. As a possible effect for a person and community it could be necessary to work for all members of the family which can lead to reducing the family numbers. It means that the family don't have many children, because they don't have the ability to care about them. For society it could cause a demographic crisis in the long run. For example, the same processes in Japan in the 20 century led to a lack of youngsters and at the same time a large number of people retired. As a result of this disbalance, the economic stability was disturbed and the government created a new policy regarding childbirth support. In conclusion, the obligation to work could be one possible reason why people don't have interest in hobbies. And this tendency could lead to the economical imbalance in the number of new and old generations which can lead to a crisis inside this particular society.
