Hello English lovers!
Can anyone explain how to easily learn/understand adjectives order?
Eg. There is a smelly big dirty old yellow Irish rubber left building boot.
Was it correct?
Do you know any other ways to memorise the order?
Thanks!

Hello!
Learning the order of adjectives in English can be tricky, but there are some general rules that can help.
The order of adjectives is usually determined by the following categories:
Opinion
Size
Age
Shape
Color
Origin
Material
Purpose
This means that the correct order for the adjectives in your example sentence would be:
There is an old dirty smelly yellow Irish rubber left building boot.
To make it easier to remember, you can use the acronym OSASCOMP:
O - Opinion
S - Size
A - Age
S - Shape
C - Color
O - Origin
M - Material
P - Purpose
Another helpful tip is to remember that not all adjectives will fall into each of these categories. In some cases, certain categories may be more important than others, so the order may vary depending on the specific context.
I hope that helps!

I think this question about the order of adjectives is one of the hardest things to get right when learning a language. English teachers may have some system of rules that work most of the time, but obviously native English speakers do not use any system of rules. We just know what sounds right and what doesn't. For example, we would say "the big, red ball", but never "the red, big ball". Why? I have no idea. Maybe an English teacher could give you a set of rules. Google it maybe.
As for your specific example sentence, I don't understand the meaning of the sentence at all, but I can make a correction to the order of adjectives even though I don't understand the meaning.
My correction: "There is a big yellow dirty smelly old Irish rubber left building boot."

Adam, thank you very much for your patience!
If I understand correctly, "safty boots" or "waterproof boots" do not have adjectives too. So we would never put an adjective in between.
Would "constructional boots" make sense?
What about left/right/top/bottom? Are they adjectives? Would it make difference between "left top", "top left"? Thank you!
