Actually you may use KUMAIN word for 3 different scenarios like past, present and future,
Ex . " Kumain " ka ba kahapon? - Did you eat yesterday? ( PAST )
" Kumain " ka ba ngayon? - Did you eat today? ( PRESENT )
Kailangan " kumain " ka ng kanin bukas ha! - You need to eat rice tomorrow okay!
( FUTURE )
or you may also say :
Kumain ka na ba ng Almusal? Did you eat your breakfast already?
Kumain ka na ba ng Tanghalian? Did you eat your Lunch already?
Kumain ka na ba ng Hapunan? Did you eat Dinner already?
" KUMAIN or KAIN " is a Tagalog word that describes " eating or eat " this word has a lot of meaning it depends on how you will use it. ( different meaning in a sense of a kind of scenarios, because this Tagalog word no matter what kind of sentences you will use along with it as long that the topic is regarding food intaking. )
" KINAIN " is also the same thing however it is pertaining to the past or the scenario is done already.
Example : " Kinain " mo ba yung pagkain nya? - Did you eat (his/her) food? ( this scenario explains that you are asking someone who intakes the food already )
" Kinain " mo na ba yung tinapay na binigay ko sayo? - Did you already eat the bread that I gave you?
( ETC.. AND A LOT MORE ) BOOK NOW!!! =)
Let's practice translating this in English: The scenario is a combination of KUMAIN and KINAIN =)
Boyfriend nya ang " kumain " ang " kinain " yung sa girlfriend nya!
That sentence has a lot of meaning so be careful, remember, we are talking about food okay guys! =)
