In my opinion it's better to combine these two pillars. For example, you could find a remote job where there are an opportunities to grow, say, IT job. In that way you would travel, staying in each country for the period allowed by a tourist visa. Meanwhile you would climb the carrier ladder. But here appears the question "what do you want from your life?". It's good way living your life if you are single. All these things get complex if you aren't. Moreover this lifestyle is not bad when you're young. After some age, I presume, you realize that it's enough and you have to "build a house" and "make a family":) because no one wants to be alone. I am sure that happy family is the greatest "achievement" in our lives. It would be amazing to live, say, two hundreds years and first hundred years just traveling and second part of your long live to settle down. Unfortunately human's life is not so long and close to your forty you should ask yourself: "ok man, what's next?". Sorry for offtopic but I think it's so important:)
