Holidays that in my country: 1) Tiradentes - Inconfidência Mineira It is a holiday in April 21th when we celebrate a social moviment that happened a few years before our independence. A guy called "Tiradentes" (his real name was Joaquim) started a fight for civil rights such as rights equality, no submission to the colony, freedom to work and produce food in our land without any need to pay something to the colony, etc. The moviment happened in Minas Gerais and it went to other States like Bahia aftwards. 2) May 1th - worker's day As the name says it is celebrated in May 1th of each year "worker's day" when most of them don't work. They can rest and stay with their families. 3) São Jorge It's a religious holiday where catholic people celebrate São Jorge and his care with us. Normally, people go to the church and pray for protection and give thanks to São Jorge. In some places they gather with their friends and eat "Feijoada". 4) September 7th In this date we celebrate a famous transformation in Brazil that happened in 1822 after years of fight (Proclamação da República). It was the year that Portuguese "lost" their hegemony over us and were no longer a colony. 5) In November we celebrate Black Conscientce and every year black peoplego to the center of Rio de Janeiro and stay next to Quilombo's Statue.

Well done! Not many changes 😊 A couple of notes: 1. "his care with us" does not make sense - what did you mean here? 2. Center is US English and Centre is British English so I have not corrected it.
