I like it a lot!

I don't know about much appreciated. It has its charm I suppose and I guess it's considered one of the more pleasant foreign accents to listen to (as opposed to accents like German or Russian which are sometimes perceived as sounding quite harsh to the ear of native English speakers.)

But if you have a strong Italian accent it can sound quite funny (funny as in amusing, not funny as in strange) in English. Perhaps the biggest hallmark of Italian accents is putting vowels at the end of words where they don't belong, and this can sound quite amusing at times.
