I think German is more easily understood for a foreigner than English is.

Nevertheless I love the sound of both languages.

As an Anglophone, I think it has a kind of staccato quality to it so it sounds sharp or choppy at times. On the positive side, because of this quality, it sounds authoritative or certain. So even when the person is expressing doubt, it sounds paradoxically certain. But I do find it charming, especially when the "W" is pronounced like a "V". :)
