Saling? Satu sama lain?

I am trying to learn "each other" and think I got it but it seems like you can either use "saling", "satu sama lain", or both.

So, if I want to say "Tom and Sue love each other", it seems I could say:

"Tom dan Sue saling mencintai".

OR

"Tom dan Sue mencintai satu sama lain".

OR

"Tom dan Sue saling mencintai satu sama lain".

So, are there times when one or the other should be used, or when both should be used? Or does it really not matter? Thank you.

For this case all three are ok I think. Though the 3rd one is a bit redundant, but still I heard it often also in everyday use here.

"Tom dan Sue mencintai satu sama lain." is pretty weird, most people in Indonesia use "saling" word to express that both of them is doing the same thing each other.

"Satu sama lain" = "one each other", but it's only an additional verb which is really not matter, sometimes only for emphasizing the sentence.

So, "Tom dan Sue saling mencintai" is the main sentence, you can use the "satu sama lain" as an additional to emphasize or to refine the sentence.

Yes, it is redundant, but.. I don't know, it's pretty common to use than without the "saling" word..
