Arabic Tutors

Hello Folks!

I've decided to look for an Arabic tutor!  It seems considering my most recent plans, that learning the Arabic language is very necessary as I expect to be moving to the Middle East  (most likely Saudi Arabia) in the Summer of 2019.

What I'm looking for is a tutor who can help me achieve my goals.  I'll be taking classes at my college starting in the Fall, and I'd like to be at a 200 level understanding of the language by then.  I'm very determined, but also need help maintaining my language learning on a day to day basis so that I can achieve my goals.  I also wouldn't mind if the tutor had a lot to teach on Arabic culture, specifically pertaining to female ex-pats.

I'd love to know who has tutored you, how the tutoring went, what the strengths and weaknesses were (as well as your progress) and who you might suggest!

Also, Arabic tutors are welcome to comment and suggest themselves!

I recommend you since you want to go to Saudi Arabia Learn Saudi dialect not Egyptian because it's totally different

Saudi don't speak Standard Arabic they speak Saudi and Arab Gulf dialects

Here in italki a female Saudi teacher her name Nada and Kuwaiti teacher is very good also ,you can find them in Searching for teachers and tutor for learning Arabic

Egyptian teachers can't help you with Saudi or Arab Gulf dialects and cultures

The Kuwaiti teacher called Abduallah

They can help you in knowing the culture of Saudi which is very very important to know before going there

Also, Arabic tutors are welcome to comment and suggest themselves!

In genral yes, but don’t forget there’s  personal differences between people .

Good luck !

Hello Amanda,

There are many tutors here on Italki and I mostly recommend Egyptians I saw many of them are serious and acheived progress with their students but I don't remember them because I just pass on their names since Iam an Arabic native speaker.

Good luck

Hello Amanda,

Before choosing your tutor, you have to know which Arabic dialect you are interested to learn first. As you know, Arabic has many dialects and for the sake of your time and sanity, specifically choose one dialect and dedicate all your effort into learning it. Learning "Arabic" and picking vocabs from this dialect and that dialect will only make the process of your Arabic learning longer and harder.

I am a tutor myself, proficient in standard Arabic and Gulf Arabic mainly. Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,

Hanan
