Knowledge is a theory still experience is a practice.

Experience: Practical contact with and observation of facts or events.

A person can have a knowledge of swimming- they know the technique. They know about it; they may not have tried swimming.

To get an experiencd of swimming; they need to actually swim in the water.

To experience something means; you saw or felt the incident or how it went.
