Offline Podcast with Synced Transcription - Android App

The issue I had was my podcast programs provided the transcription on their website. This can present an inconvenience on a smart phone while riding the bus.

I found this Android app that can play a downloaded podcast and its transcription at the same time.  It syncs up very well.  After you download the podcast, you copy and paste the transcription in a text file (.txt).  The podcast and the transcription MUST have the same name and be in the same folder.  For example, iTalki_Is_Great.mp3 and iTalki_Is_Great.txt.

The app is free and has no ads.  Hope this helps somebody.  You can also use this as your own karaoke system and sing along your favorite songs.

Well, there's an Android app called WorkAudioBook. It works with mp3 + subtitles in either .srt format or WorkAudioBook's own format. Both audio and text are kept in sync. Give it a shot:

I'm starting a blog with short stories in easy Spanish. I'm adding both mp3 and subtitles in both srt and WorkAudioBook format, so you can have both in sync on your device:

Hi Miguel, I don't think it is that sophisticated.  It just scrolls the transcription up at a normal speaking speed.  Yesterday, the transcription file I created had a couple of extra sentences in it.  The mp3 and the transcription got out of sync.  I just swiped the transcription text up to catch up with the mp3.

Thanks, Miguel.  I'll try your blog.

Hey, Alex. Does it sync automagically to the text? That must mean it has voice recognition, right?
