For me as a resident of both the city and the village the perfect option is to combine them. When you feel you're fed up with the city life, just move to countryside for some time. When the quiet country life starts to bother you plus you start missing the big city, go to the city again) Apparently, such a lifestyle doesn't allow you to have a constant, stable job, so you should be a freelancer or something like that.
