I agree with you, you would not go far if you're a people pleaser or if you care what people think of you 

It is hard to do but it is possible and worth to try. Generally we come to this decision when we have nothing to lose situation. And it is a sad thing that we could not aware of it before the trusteds turn back or wasting our time waiting others to help.

It sounds good, but it's difficult to achieve. alot of things surrounded you, are frustrating

You have to try to overcome it.
