Accommodation is probably one of the biggest expense when we are travelling. In recent years, the number of hostels and
Airbnb has increased. This is to accommodate a different market of travellers such as backpackers and solo travellers.
I personally prefer a hotel for better privacy. However, I have chosen hostels in the last couple of years to decrease the cost of travelling and also to have a brand new experience.
How about you? What kind of travel accommodation do you prefer?

It depends.
My last Airbnb accomodation was of the same price as I would rent a room in a hotel, but I had two floors, two rooms with a bathroom en-suite, a large balcony and a kitchen at a modern house next to the city center. I was alone there and breakfast was included.
And I rented a bunk in a hostel for the last night, because it was the nearest place to the airport next to metro line that led directly to the airport, as I had a very early flight.
Sometines in small towns you can't find hostels or Airbnb, therefore hotels or B&B are the only one option.

I think it is also a thing that you can do at airbnb.com... Maybe I should try it.
When I travelled airbnb wasn't that famous, I just didn't know about it. There are some cheap flats only accessible via local web-sites or local freinds. But maybe airbnb people are better company and maybe I shoudl try:)

Hotel.
Me and my husband had issues with an Airbnb we tried to stay at during a California trip a few years ago.... We left the Airbnb the first day and chose a hotel instead.
