Book recommendation for a novice in Levantine Arabic
I learn the Levantine 'Amiya (I didn't study fusha at all) and am looking for books (preferably e-books) that a novice can read. I tried searching for books written in Levantine Arabic but unfortunately, all the books that I can find are folk stories (like this one <a href="https://www.amazon.com/%E2%80%AB%D9%82%D8%B5%D8%A9-%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%84%D9%89-%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B0%D8%A6%D8%A8-%D8%A8%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%84%D9%87%D8%AC%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B4%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%8A%D8%A9-ebook/dp/B07CPHVV7W/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%82%D8%B5%D8%A9+%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%84%D9%89&qid=1572068412&sr=8-1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.amazon.com/%E2%80%ABقصة-ليلى-والذئب-باللهجة-الشامية-ebook/dp/B07CPHVV7W/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=القصة+ليلى&qid=1572068412&sr=8-1</a>) .

Can you please recommend me a book (for grown-ups) that a novice who studies colloquial Arabic will enjoy reading? I understand that the majority of the literature is written in MSA. Is this a big problem for me?

The dialects are not literary languages. Any book written in a dialect is bound to be folksy and conversational. You’d be better off watching TV shows if you want to understand the colloquial culture.

I’m curious why you’re learning a colloquial dialect and not MSA if you’re interested in reading literature.

I'm learning the colloquial dialect to be able to talk to people. I want to read something to expand my knowledge, learn new world, and better understand the culture
