La differenza tra aspettare e attendere

Qualcuno mi può spiegare qual è la differenza tra aspettare e attendere?

Aspettare solitamente si usa con il complemento oggetto quindi si Aspetta Qualcuno o Qualcosa. Attendere invece dovrebbe essere usato nel senso di "rivolgere una forte attenzione ".

ASPETTARE
Ti aspetterò alla stazione.
Aspetta! Ti devo dire qualcosa importante.
Non sforzarti tanto, le cose migliori accadono quando meno te lo aspetti.
ATTENDERE
Abbiamo atteso la fine del temporale nel bosco.
Non avendo le risorse sufficienti la nostra ricerca dovrà attendere.
Io consiglio di attendere fino a domani.

Se conosci la differenza tra le parole in inglese to "wait x to expect" questi verbi funzionano piu o meno simile.
aspettare = to wait
attendere = to expect, to await, be awaiting
