Yes, if I am grasping the meaning of your words (I am making an effort) then you are saying you can try your best and that shows how you value things, but you may not be valuing them to an extent someone else is, because someone else may have a higher ability of exercising efforts. Now with the effort of trying to understand you I wonder if I grasped the value of your words :) :)
