I would really like to be able to send a message to someone, but all I'm able to do is "Follow". So we're just supposed to "Follow" the people we want to talk to and hope they'll reciprocate? Sometimes the desire to talk to someone on a language-learning website comes about because they send me a funny or interesting message, and I wish that was a possibility on this website.
like friends on FB, it becomes irrelevent, I started talking to a few, some paid, some asking me for help, and with my life being busy, it's all the time I have for italki, as good as it is. don't worry skype the ones that connect with you, ignore the ones that ignore you, believe me you will not have enought time to "converse" with all the follow you, nor do you want to.They could bore you to death.

After you follow a user, you can choose to send a follower request to them. This follower request is a message which you can customize.
