Hay palabras que son comunes en un lugar, pero pieden significar algo totalmente distinto distiton en otro, pero con lo que realmente tienes que tener cuidado es con las palabras que son malsonante en otro lugar.

It depends on the country and region and in the kind of bus. For example:

Mexico City ->  camión (more common), autobús, microbus (for smaller buses), trolebús (buses that use electricity), metrobus

Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, España -> guagua

Colombia -> autobús, microbús, buseta, colectivo, bus, chiva, flota

Argentina -> colectivo, bondi (very colloquial)

In almost all countries where Spanish is spoken -> bus
