My guitar and the Brazilian guitar.
I like playing the guitar. I have been playing it since when I was sixteen years old and I have still (still have) been learning it because it is a complex instrument. There are two years I have had a musical group (or a band) where I play the guitar for two years. We have fun playing Brazilian dance music.
The guitar allows you to play a lot of different kinds of musical genres. As Here in Brazil we have a wide variety of musical styles, the guitar is present in each one, either doing the harmony accompaniment or the melody. Fortunately we have a special Brazilian culture around the guitar. We also have many greats guitar players, many of which are known worldwide known, like Turibio Santos, Yamandú, Alessandro Penezzi and Raphael Rabello. This last one, who unfortunately has died, was the best among all and without a doubt one the best players in the world. He was the most appreciated for Paco de Lucia, as he said. The Brazilian genre that a most like to play (and listen to) is Choro (that means Cry in English). Choro was the first musical urban genre and, like he, said Villa-Lobos (The greatest Brazilian classic composer) Choro represents the Brazilian soul. Curiously he also had the guitar in his heart.
Last but not least, if someone wants know something about that, just contact me. It would be pleased show my culture.
Best wishes!
Good text! I listened to some Choro music and watched a documentary about it when I was in Brasil. It was very nice.
